Previewing the BUNHEADS Winter season with Sutton Foster

BUNHEADS is back with all new episodes next week, starting with their Winter Premiere on Monday, January 7 (look for Courtney K’s QuickTake next week).  When we left Paradise at the end of the Nutcracker in July fiasco, Michelle was hightailing it out of dodge, shunned by the town, and embarrassed that she had ruined so much for Fanny.  When the show returns, all is not well for our favorite dancers.  I spent some time chatting BUNHEADS with series star

HAWAII FIVE-0’s Kono, Grace Park, gets real with My Take on TV

“I never wanted to be an actor,” Hawaii Five-0’s Grace Park (Kono) told me when we recently sat down to talk about her role on the show.  “When I was a kid, I think I wanted to be a research scientist.” She went on, “People think it’s fast, fun, and glamorous.  That’s the fantasy that’s created.  The reality is you work 14-hour days for most of the year, take a quick break, then it’s back to work.   “Part of

David Eigenberg on CHICAGO FIRE and Life After SEX AND THE CITY

I recently had an interesting conversation with David Eigenberg about, among other things, his role in CHICAGO FIRE. Eigenberg was not always set on a collision course to become an actor.  After serving in the United States Marine Corps, he attended a trading school in Chicago, where there happened to be a musical in town seeking a replacement cast.  Though he couldn’t sing, dance, or act, Eigenberg told me he heard the search was on, and he went for it.

Steve Boyum Unlocks the Keys to Directing Hawaii Five-0

I had the wonderful privilege recently to interview one of my favorite Hawaii Five-0 directors, Steve Boyum. Boyum has been a producer as well as a director on the series and has seen impossible scenes to shoot transform into utterly amazing, totally cool. “Some days are better than others,” he told me, “but I’ve learned over the years not to take either too seriously. The good ones go to your head and the bad ones break your heart.” Boyum started

Director Larry Teng Shows Us How It’s Done

One very popular, in-demand television director these days is Larry Teng.  I had another opportunity to chat with him recently and, not surprisingly, his cup is overflowing. A Different Kind of Show Teng was shooting Criminal Minds when we spoke.  Though he couldn’t really say much about the episode, he did reveal that “it’s a very dark premise.” He went on to say, “The nice thing about working on this show is that it’s very much character driven, and there’s

THE WEDDING BAND star Kathryn Fiore talks “Mother of the Bride” and what comes next!

TBS’ latest comedy, THE WEDDING BAND, has quietly been providing fun and music to Saturday nights since it premiered in November. The show follows a group of grown men who play in a band called “Mother of the Bride” for weddings, parties, and as in last week’s episode, adult proms, while dealing with their lives inside and outside of the band. The cast is charming, the writing is extremely sharp, and I can’t help but fall in love with it

Taryn Manning: She’s Not Just Steve McGarrett’s Little Sister

“I never felt so good about myself, to be honest,” Taryn Manning tells me when we sit down to talk about her role of Mary Ann McGarrett on Hawaii Five-0, as well as some other exciting projects she’s working on. Mary’s Unpredictable “People really like my character,” she says, pointing out the number of tweets she gets daily. “I love the character, but, at the same time, it’s probably the hardest role I’ve ever played.  This girl is so unpredictable.

Sara Rue talks Reba, “method” babies, and MALIBU COUNTRY

You all recognize Sara Rue from her multiple roles throughout the years on some of the best shows on TV – POPULAR, anyone?  And I will always remember her on PHENOM because that show was incredible!  This season, she’s spending her time as neighbor to Reba on ABC’s new comedy MALIBU COUNTRY.  Rue plays Kim, the bubbly and inviting next to neighbor to Reba’s Malibu beach house, and every week, manages to insert herself and her opinions in Reba’s life.

Krysten Ritter gives us the scoop on an all new DON’T TRUST THE B—- IN APT 23!

DON’T TRUST THE B—- IN APT 23 is all new tonight and the gang is celebrating Thanksgiving!  I spent some time chatting with the incredibly charming Krysten Ritter about what her character Chloe is up to, what lines Chloe will or won’t cross, and how she makes Thanksgiving all about Chloe in tonight’s new episode.  Plus, Krysten previews an episode where Chloe gets a job that sounds hilarious. We also spent some time chatting with us about her involvement in

Previewing “Nuke It Out” with LAST RESORT’s Daniel Lissing

When we left our friends on the island of Sainte Marina, on ABC’s LAST RESORT, it was revealed that during the toxin-related blackout of “Another Fine Navy Day,” someone got their hands on Marcus Chaplin’s Nuke key. Tonight’s episode, “Nuke It Out,” follows the direct fallout of that situation. As we’ve watched the show progress, we’ve seen the inner turmoil of SEAL Officer James King (played by Aussie actor Daniel Lissing) as he struggles to wrap his head around (and
