After-Take: CHICAGO FIRE “Taste of Panama City”

Name of the Episode: Taste of Panama City Beware – the follow contains spoilers!!! Coming off the season premiere, this episode wastes no time before diving into the story. At first, Matt and Gabby are hesitant to tell anyone about their pregnancy news. However, after telling Chief Boden that Gabby wants to transfer to the Arson department, and the Chief drawing the conclusion she is unhappy, the happy couple tells Boden and the rest of the firehouse they are indeed

After-Take: CHICAGO FIRE “Let It Burn”

Name of the Episode: Grave New World Beware – the follow contains spoilers!!! After months of speculating and wondering, fans finally found out the fate of Lieutenant Matt Casey!  He is…..ALIVE! Within the first two minutes of the episode, he is found by Chicago PD officers, and was able to fight off the men who kidnapped him. What Is Marissa Watching This Fall?

Please welcome new My Take on TV contributor, Marissa, to the fold! Fall TV season has arrived, and the network line-ups do not disappoint. Here are some shows I have my eye on this Fall: GOTHAM promised a “Rise of the Villains” in all of their promotions. The season premiere has already set up to keep that promise. We’re being introduced to new characters, such as Theo Galavan (James Frain) and Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas). Ben Mackenzie has previously said

Jesse Spencer Opens Up About CHICAGO FIRE

On the heels of the news that Chicago Fire will be renewed for a third season, I had the opportunity to speak with Jesse Spencer (Lt. Matthew Casey) just before he headed out the door for a well-deserved hiatus. Big Episodes Coming I asked Spencer if he’d tease for viewers just a bit about what they might expect in remaining episodes of the season. “There’s a really big episode coming up,” he teased. “I think it’s Episode 20 or 21.

Quick Take: CHICAGO FIRE Season 2 Premiere

If you remember back to last year, right around this time, I wasn’t exactly giving CHICAGO FIRE a glowing review, calling it a bunch of hot bodies but not much else.  As I watched season 1 roll out, however, with the drama that came along with it (the rogue cops and lost lives and secret drug use, etc), I found myself pleasantly surprised, and excited for Season 2. The wait is over as Season 2 premieres tonight (on a new

NBC Renews PARENTHOOD and 4 other dramas

NBC has officially renewed 5 of their drama series for their next seasons with 22 episodes each – established dramas GRIMM, LAW & ORDER: SVU, and PARENTHOOD, along with freshman series CHICAGO FIRE (which I love more with each episode) and REVOLUTION (which has seen some ratings dips since returning from a long hiatus, but that doesn’t seem to have affected NBC’s affinity for the show). Jennifer Salke, president of NBC Entertainment, had this to say: “On the verge of

David Eigenberg on CHICAGO FIRE and Life After SEX AND THE CITY

I recently had an interesting conversation with David Eigenberg about, among other things, his role in CHICAGO FIRE. Eigenberg was not always set on a collision course to become an actor.  After serving in the United States Marine Corps, he attended a trading school in Chicago, where there happened to be a musical in town seeking a replacement cast.  Though he couldn’t sing, dance, or act, Eigenberg told me he heard the search was on, and he went for it.

Quick Take: CHICAGO FIRE has hot bodies and not much else

Tonight on NBC, after an all new episode of SVU, Taylor Kinney and Jesse Spencer star in CHICAGO FIRE.  The show, set (and filmed) in Chicago, follows the firefighters on the truck (lead by Spencer) and the firefighters on the rescue squad (lead by Kinney), who are at odds after a bad situation at the impressive fire we see in the opening act.  Eamonn Walker is their chief trying to bring the competing sides back together; Lauren German and Monica
