First Look: THE BRAVE on NBC

NBC released their Fall season schedule this morning, and only two new shows (besides new but actually old WILL AND GRACE) made the list –  Check out the trailer for the new show THE BRAVE, once upon a time called FOR GOD & COUNTRY.  This one stars Anne Heche and Mike Vogel – check out the full trailer! Official details: From Keshet Studios and Avi Nir (executive producer of “Homeland”) comes a fresh, heart-pounding journey into the complex world of

NBC 2017 Fall Schedule – THIS IS US to Thursday!

NBC released their Fall schedule in advance of tomorrow morning’s UpFront presentation for advertisers. Biggest things – WILL AND GRACE is back on Thursdays, with THIS IS US looking to put the hurt on ABC’s TGIT. Putting a lot of their eggs in the TIU basket, the show will ALSO air post-Superbowl on NBC.  Other notes – THE BLACKLIST is moving, BLINDSPOT / TAKEN head to Fridays, and there’s no news on CHICAGO JUSTICE or TRIAL & ERROR yet. UpFronts 2017: NBC reverses decision on TIMELESS – it’s renewed!

In a series of surprising tweets this morning, co-creators of TIMELESS confirmed that NBC had reversed their (really disappointing) decision to cancel the show and they will in fact RETURN next summer with 10 new episodes! It’s true! NBC heard from the fans, went back in time and changed history! #Timeless is getting a Season 2! #TimelessResuscitated! — Shawn Ryan (@ShawnRyanTV) May 13, 2017 True props to Bob Greenblatt, Jen Salke and everyone at @NBC who pulled some serious Brandon

Update before UpFronts 2017

Whew, the past few nights have brought with them a whirlwind of activity – cancellations, renewals (some surprising in both categories), and new series pickups.  Going into what’s usually Bloody Friday (the Friday night before UpFronts when shows find their fates and book their tickets to NYC), here’s a look at where things stand for the big five networks (and be sure to bookmark THIS page for all updates made as news rolls out)! NBC has made some moves, but

Jasmin Savoy Brown on relating to THE LEFTOVERS and her upcoming series WILL

Jasmin Savoy Brown should look familiar as she’s steadily been popping in on some of TV’s biggest shows. Small parts on BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, GREY’S ANATOMY, and GRIMM led to a longer stay on Freeform’s STITCHERS. Her most prominent role to date has been the fairly pivotal Evangeline ‘Evie’ Murphy on HBO’s THE LEFTOVERS. The third and final season started in April with (spoilers) the surprising death of her character as the show barrels on to what will likely be an

Sonya Walger previews THE CATCH season finale: “It’s very, very unexpected”

As season 2 of THE CATCH landed on ABC this spring, with a new focus on a lighter, more romantic-comedy quality, it didn’t let up on the danger and vengeance that ruled much of Season 1. Assassins, deaths, kidnapping, surprise daughters, surprise returns, you name it, Season 2 has had it, all the while pumping up the charm, humor, and energy. When I chatted with Sonya Walger (Margot) late last week to prepare for the finale, we looked back on

Thomas Barbusca Previews THE MICK’s S1 Finale

Tonight, the first season finale of my favorite new comedy of the season, THE MICK, airs at 8:30/7:30c. The episode promises to be another hilarious one, as FOX tells us, “The kids catch a pair of intruders trying to break into the Pemberton mansion; Mickey tries to protect the kids in a case of mistaken identity.” To celebrate the final episode of the year (and the fact that it’s not the final episode ever and we’ll see more of these

WonderCon 2017: Kevin Alejandro previews LUCIFER’s return

At WonderCon 2017 early in April, we spent some time with fellow press at round tables to discuss what’s coming next for LUCIFER and “Detective Douche” when new episodes resume tonight at 9/8c.  Kevin Alejandro previewed what he wants to see for Dan, and how he and Tom sometimes improv their way through bro-scenes. On being heretofore known as “Detective Douche”: “That’s given the audience something to hold onto.  Don’t take it away if it’s not broken.” On wanting to see Dan
