WRECKED’s Ally Maki on Season 2: Jess, Todd, and The Barracuda

I’ve said it once; I’ll say it a million times – over the last year or so, TBS came out of the gate firing on all cylinders, premiering 5 of the funniest comedies on TV in shows like ANGIE TRIBECA, THE DETOUR, SEARCH PARTY, PEOPLE OF EARTH, and WRECKED, which returns tonight with all new episodes (10/9c with back to back eps for S2). Ally Maki plays Jess Kato, a survivor of a plane crash that stranded a wildly diverse

First Look: STILL STAR-CROSSED’s Rosaline doth pretend too much

In this exclusive first look at Episode 3 of STILL STAR-CROSSED, Rosaline (Lashana Lynch) tries a little bit too hard to make Prince Escalus think she’s moved on and is in LOVE with Benvolio, while he pushes back harder and speeds up the marriage’s timeline. Elsewhere in the episode, Livia bonds with Paris & the Montague/Capulet rivalry continues ten-fold. “All The World’s A Stage” airs Monday, June 19, at 10:01/9:01c on ABC.

Luke Cosgrove previews THE MIST: “It looks phenomenal!”

THE MIST, a new series that actor Luke Cosgrove tells me is “like a cousin” to the book and movie of the same name by Stephen King, premieres June 22 (10/9c) on SpikeTV. As the show explores the fear that the townspeople feel in the face of THE MIST, it sounds like we’ll be on the edges of our seats (and maybe jumping out of them with fright) each week. Cosgrove plays Jake, the Sheriff’s son, the big man on

Previewing TNT’s CLAWS with Evan Daigle

Evan Daigle may not yet be a face you recognize – but the Louisiana native, who only realized in the past few years that his calling was to be an actor, turns in a great debut performance in TNT’s CLAWS. A newcomer working among small screen royalty in Dean Norris and Niecy Nash, Evan told me on a call this week to discuss his show, that “when people ask…what’s your favorite part of the experience, definitely 100% getting the opportunity

First Look: GET SHORTY Trailer from EPIX

GET SHORTY on EPIX is coming over the summer (August 13) and today, the cable network released the first full length trailer.  Chris O’Dowd stars in the show based on the popular Elmore Leonard novel – he’s Miles Daly who “works as muscle for a murderous crime ring in Nevada and attempts to change professions and become a movie producer, laundering money through a Hollywood film. Ray Romano stars as Rick, a washed up producer of low quality films who

My Take On…ABC’s DIRTY DANCING

ABC’s DIRTY DANCING is an almost shot-for-shot re-do of the classic 1987 movie of the same name.  Down to almost the exact same dialogue (watermelons included), the movie doesn’t re-boot so much as re-hashes a film we’ve already seen, and seen done way better.  Where the original featured an awesome soundtrack and creative original choreography, this new version finds the cast singing the songs instead, and the dancing? Original maybe, boring yes. Still the story of the coming of

Fall 2017 Primetime Grid – how does it all shake out?

Now that the big-5 have released their 2017 Fall schedule, here’s a look at it all in one spot, in the 2017 Fall grid (click to enlarge/print) – New shows are shaded in green; all times are Eastern/Pacific. Looking at the networks side by side, what night do you think will cause the biggest issue for your DVR? For me, it might be Wednesdays at 8 with 4 shows that I watch regularly!

The CW Fall 2017 Schedule – JANE THE VIRGIN to Fridays

This morning, THE CW released their 2017 fall schedule.  They’ll have their premieres in early October, with 2 new series in the Fall, and 2 held for midseason (LIFE SENTENCE and BLACK LIGHTNING, which we learned is NOT a part of the Arrowverse) – with THE 100, IZOMBIE, and THE ORIGINALS coming then, too! Most notably, Tuesday is staying the same; everything else is changing, with JANE THE VIRGIN heading to Friday nights to be paired with CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND.  Take
