Exclusive: Isabella Acres from BETTER OFF TED – reason #1591 to watch this show!

isabella-acresYou know I’ve been championing the sheer brilliance that is BETTER OFF TED since way before it premiered two weeks ago.  Another reason you should be watching?  The adorable little girl that plays Ted’s daughter Rose on the show – Isabella Acres.  In tonight’s all new episode, called “Through Rose Colored HAZMAT Suits,” through an unfortunate incident with the nanny, has to bring Rose to work.  This is the episode that solidified my love for the show!

Isabella was kind enough to spend some time with me last week, to talk about how she manages to memorize all the sassy lines they give, among other things!  When you’re doing reading, tell me this interview doesn’t make you say “Aw, I NEED to watch this girl on TV, she’s adorable”!

I have to tell you, 2 minutes after I watched this episode, I had to go find out what else you’ve been in because I thought you were awesome!
Aw thank you!

Do you have a lot of fun on the set?
Yeah, it’s awesome!  It’s so cool!

What are some of your favorite things about Rose?
I like that she’s very mature, and sweet, and funny, and nice.  That’s what I like about her!

The episode that airs Wednesday night is the episode where you got spend a lot of time with Portia’s character, Veronica.  Was that a lot of fun?
Yeah, it’s really awesome.  She’s so nice, and funny!

You’re a funny little girl; had you always wanted to do comedy?
Well, actually, no.  Actually, I didn’t really know what a comedy was when I was younger.  I just did theatre called Applause for Kids.  It’s in Atlanta, GA.  I didn’t really know what comedy was.

When did you start acting?
I started when I was three!  We moved to California because my dad got a job here, so we moved to California, and then I started acting.

Who are some of your favorite actors and actresses?
I really like Jim Carrey.  He’s so, so funny.  He stars in this movie called Horton Hears a Who, a comedy for kids, it’s animated.  And I worked on it, too!

I love that movie.  I went to see that movie all by myself one afternoon in Chicago ha!  I thought it was fantastic!
Awesome!  Thank you!  It’s so funny, isn’t it?

What kind of TV do you get a chance to watch?
Well, at night, I watch BETTER OFF TED!  Usually, I watch PHINEAS AND PHERB.  SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, JIMMY NEUTRON.  I’m kind of a tomboy at watching television, I don’t know why.  I just like those kinds of shows [laughs].

What do you do in your free time?
During free time, I like writing children’s books for all ages, and I like designing clothes, it’s awesome.

What kind of clothes do you design?
I like designing skirts and dresses.  It’s so much fun!

What do you write about in your books?
I wrote three books.  I wrote a series.  It has a character whose name is Pat, he’s a cat. And yeah, it’s sort of like just a fun crazy book!

What about school – what’s your favorite subject in school?
I love Science because, well, you get to make all these crazy things!  Last time, my dad and I made a windmill and a waterwheel.   This time, we’re making salt water into fresh water!

You have a whole lot of lines in the show – is it hard to learn what you need to say?
Not really!  Usually, I just look at it for 5, 10, 15 minutes and then I remember it!

What kind of relationship do you have with Jay Harrington?  Is he kind of like a dad for you when you’re on set?
Yes, he is, sometimes.  And he’s really, really funny, and cute, too!

Why do you think people should start watching BETTER OFF TED?
Well, I think it’s a great comedy for adults.  It’s awesome, it’s so funny!  I love it!

Is there anything that you want your fans to know?
Yeah, I do actually!  They can watch the show, too, and then they can say, wow, that’s my friend, and they might tell a couple people!

And then hopefully they tell a couple people, and everyone tells a couple people, and everyone starts watching the show!
Yeah!

Seriously, the sweetest interview ever!  Don’t make plans tonight.  If you have to make plans, make them for after 9PM (or after 11, so you can watch LOST and the series finale of LIFE ON MARS, too), so you can be sure you’re home for tonight’s fantastic BETTER OFF TED!
