RAISING HOPE scores first full season order of the ’10-’11 season!

Variety is reporting that my favorite new show this season, RAISING HOPE, has gotten the first official “back nine” pickup, from the same network that handed out the first official pink slip (to first victim LONE STAR).  I’m so excited for this show – I think the cast is great, and I love what I’ve seen so far! What are you waiting for?  You have at least a full season to check out this great new show – don’t miss

Pilot/Renewal Updates

UPDATED Thursday with links to CW’s schedule! As we head into the most infamous week in Network scheduling, the UpFront week, I, like many other bloggers, think now is the time to update everyone on where our favorite shows stand as of end of day yesterday. ABC has the interesting distinction of almost all of their new dramatic offerings this season being failures, so they’re looking to start fresh. Officially renewed: CASTLE, COUGARTOWN, THE MIDDLE, MODERN FAMILY, V, BROTHERS AND

BREAKING: JUSTIFIED picked up for Season 2

In what should come as no surprise, my favorite new drama of the season has been picked up for Season 2.  There are 6 new episodes left this season, and the finale airs on June 8, making room for the eventual premiere of another great drama, RESCUE ME, on June 29. Here’s an excerpt from the press release from FX: “We are very excited about the tremendous, widespread acclaim that Justified has received from both audiences and television critics,” said

BREAKING: SOUTHLAND renewed for Season 3

I’ve been having a lousy day, what with the crappy weather in my area AND the raging sinus headache, so I want to send a big thank you to the folks at TNT for renewing one of my favorite dramas for a third season!  SOUTHLAND will return to the network in January 2011 with 10 all new episodes.  No word on which cast members will be back (hopefully all of them), or how soon after Season 2 the new season

Conan lands at TBS!

In what came as a huge surprise to just about everyone I’ve talked to or seen twittering / commenting today, Conan O’Brien just finalized a deal to air in late night, but not on FOX as it’s widely been rumored.  It sounds like early last week, TBS came out as a front runner in the battle for Conan, and with a little help from George Lopez, they made a deal. Let’s hope everyone follows the very funny guy to the

ABC Family picks up 2 dramas

ABC Family is sticking with what continues to work for them – Paul Lee announced yesterday that the network would be giving 10-episode orders to two new series – HUGE and PRETTY LITTLE LIARS.  Both shows are expected to premiere in 2010! HUGE is based on author Sasha Paley’s book of the same name; it follows the lives of six teens and the staff at a weight-loss camp, as they look beneath the surface to discover their true selves and

ABC cancels UGLY BETTY

In what should come as no surprise, based on the ratings beat down that the show took this season, ABC has officially canceled UGLY BETTY.  The show seemed to have a real creative resurgence this year, but even that couldn’t stave off an untimely death.  The good news, according to Ausiello, is that ABC and Silvio Horta have had talks, and though the show is being knocked down from 22 to 20 episodes, there will be a satisfying series finale.

ABDC hires a new judge!

[gigya width=”480″ height=”365″ src=”http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/xbxfsj&related=0″ quality=”high” wmode=”tranparent” ] After the news of AMERICA’S BEST DANCE CREW and SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE personality Shane Sparks’ alleged child molestation charges hit the web, rumors have circulated about who will be the third judge on season 5 of ABDC.  There was even a twitter campaign waged by SYTYCD’s Lil C, but ultimately, the seat went to Grammy-nominated singer, actor, and dancer Omarion (formerly of B2K and “You Got Served”). “Omarion is one

MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE gets season 2

The official announcement just came down that MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE is getting a 10 episode season 2.  From the network: MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE has been embraced by viewers and critics alike, making our decision to renew an easy one,” said Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM).  “MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE blends insightful storylines, highly relatable characters and top-notch performances from Ray Romano, Andre Braugher and

CHUCK IS SAVED!

That’s right folks, the Save CHUCK campaign just may have helped our friends in the CIA, NSA, and the Buy More, score a 3rd season.  The official order is for 13 episodes (the better to create a brilliantly solid slew of episodes, I say), and a significant budget decrease.  No word about who is back, other than Zachary Levi (and probably Adam and Yvonne), but we’ll keep you posted as we hear more!  Read more from my buddy Matt over
