My Take On…the return of SAMCRO in the SONS OF ANARCHY S6 Premiere

After what feels like a million years (these 13-episode seasons followed by a 9-10 month hiatus are brutal), SONS OF ANARCHY returns tonight on FX (10/9c) with their 6th season premiere: a continuation of the story that we’ve been following for years. Set just days after the events of last season’s finale that found not one but two series regulars behind bars, the viewers are immediately thrown back into this dangerous world of SAMCRO with a vengeance. The show has

My Take On…THE LEAGUE’s 5th Season Premiere on FXX

Tonight on FXX, Season 5 of THE LEAGUE premieres after an all new IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY, and I honestly couldn’t be happier.  The show that I avoided like the plague in Season 1 (I was misinformed – I’ve since gone back and kicked myself for missing out) has become one of the shows I most look forward to every fall. After a season that found Ruxin falling to the bottom of the league standings, the new season picks up at

My Take On….the S9 premiere of FXX’s IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA

Tonight’s a big night for the new cable channel FXX – though it launched on Monday with a PARKS AND REC marathon, tonight’s the night that really matters.  IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY Season 9 premieres at 10/9c, looking to make a name for the newest kid on the block. I’ve never missed an episode of IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA.  Almost a decade down the line, I still count it among my favorite shows on TV.  And the start of Season

My Take on….TNT Tuesday nights: RIZZOLI & ISLES and PERCEPTION

Tonight at 9/8c, RIZZOLI & ISLES returns to TNT with their 4th season premiere. The episode, which follows what happens when a Senator is gunned down by a sniper during a community parade, is a nice re-introduction to Jane and Maura.  Dr Isles hasn’t been herself since she gave her kidney away to her previously-unknown sister, and Rizzoli is doing her best to help her snap out of it, while they investigate the murder.  Frankie got great news about his

My Take On…UNDER THE DOME on CBS

Tonight on CBS, Dean Norris (BREAKING BAD), Britt Robertson (LIFE UNEXPECTED), Mike Vogel (PAN AM, among others) and Rachelle LaFevre (everything ever made), star in UNDER THE DOME (CBS, 10/9c).  The show, which is based on the lengthy Stephen King novel of the same name, follows the residents of Chester’s Mill before and after an invisible dome slices through the air (among other things….in the grossest scene I’ve seen outside of HANNIBAL these days), trapping many people in town, and

My Take On….FALLING SKIES Season 3

When we left our friends in the 2nd Mass/Charleston, a new race of aliens had descended on our planet, before the show cut to black. When Season 3 picks up tonight at 9/8c on TNT, we get dropped right into the story, 7 months down the line.  Anne’s pregnancy is in full bloom, Matt has a new haircut, the new alien race (the Volm) have helped Charleston in their battle against the overlords, Hal is dealing with some DARK demons,

My Take On…WHO GETS THE LAST LAUGH? on TBS

Tonight at 10/9c, a new hidden camera practical joke show where actors/comedians we know and love compete to win $10,000 for their favorite charities premieres on TBS, and I, for one, think it’s a show completely worth your time.  WHO GETS THE LAST LAUGH? (from the creative team behind MTV’s PUNK’d) is hosted by perennial favorite of MTOT, Donald Faison (Murray and Turk Turkleson forever, you guys!), who is charming and excited about every single thing he says and does.

Wednesday Must Watch: PSYCH Returns to USA!!!!

It feels like forever since we’ve been able to spend time with our favorite detectives and fake detectives in Santa Barbara.  When we last left PSYCH, almost a year ago, the fate of series regular Corbin Bernsen’s character Henry (Shawn’s dad for you newbies) was very much left in the air, after being on the wrong side of a shooting gun!  When the show returns tonight with the stellar premiere, a send up of LETHAL WEAPON called “Santa Barbaratown 2,”

My Take On….THE AMERICANS on FX

Keri Russell has long been a favorite of mine, from her days spent on THE MICKEY MOUSE CLUB and MALIBU SHORES (worth nothing to mention her long relationship with another favorite, Tony Lucca).  I followed her to FELICITY (one of my favorite shows of all time) loved her in WAITRESS (her movie with Nathan Fillion), and sat through every episode of RUNNING WILDE.  In short, I would do anything for Keri Russell, and that includes, it would appear, rooting for
