CourtneyK looks at ABC’s new TGI….W comedy block

Does anyone else remember TGIF? When PERFECT STRANGERS ruled (who DIDN’T do the Dance of Joy??) and FULL HOUSE made us all wish we had 3 live-in uncles to babysit us. Then that golden age went far, far away, ABC focused more on dramas and brain twisters like LOST and reality train wrecks like DANCING WITH THE STARS (sorry, I’m really, really not a fan [Amrie note:  God, me either…]) leaving the light comedies to other networks and cable to

Michael Chiklis previews tonight’s all new NO ORDINARY FAMILY

I recently had the great opportunity to speak with one of my favorites on TV, Michael Chiklis, from THE COMMISH, THE SHIELD, and now ABC’s family drama NO ORDINARY FAMILY, airing Tuesdays at 8. In tonight’s all new episode, Jim has to deal with something worse than hiding his super hero powers from the world – his in-laws! Check out what Michael had to say and let us know if you’re tuning in tonight at 8/7c on ABC!

Morning News: ABC Series Style

Quick news this morning:  ABC gave full season pick ups to two series last night – NO ORDINARY FAMILY, starring Michael Chiklis and Julie Benz, and BETTER WITH YOU, starring Joanna Garcia and Jennifer Finnigan.  Both of the shows are actually still being recorded on my DVR but are being watched with reluctance.  Knowing that they have a full season, I’ll save them and catch them on a rerun break for other networks. ABC also gave some good news to

Fall TV 2010: BODY OF PROOF on ABC

Today’s look ahead to Fall TV focuses on ABC’s BODY OF PROOF starring Dana Delaney (LOVE HER) in a very solid series about a whip smart former neurosurgeon who is now a whip smart medical examiner, in the heart of Philadelphia.  An accident ended her neurosurgery career, but that doesn’t stop former students from consulting her on cases.  She’s also not afraid to skip a few steps, cross a few lines, and get in the way of the police as

My Take On…THE GATES from ABC

If you’re not watching anything else at 10/9c tonight, why not check out THE GATES on ABC?  It’s a perfectly okay way to pass an hour, and might actually surprise you when you find yourself interested to see what happens next.  In the pilot (from ABC), the Monohan family moves into a new home in an exclusive community called The Gates; things become complicated when the father, the new chief of police, must investigate neighbors in a missing-persons case his

My Take On….SCOUNDRELS from ABC

ABC’s SCOUNDRELS tells the tale of the West family.  They follow the rule that the family that commits crimes together, stays together, until the patriarch of the family (David James Elliott) is thrown in jail for a much harsher sentence than they were expecting.  Mom Cheryl (Virgina Madsen) decides then and there that her brood of criminals – Cal (Patrick Flueger), Heather (Leven Rambin), and Hope (Vanessa Marano) – would join the straight and narrow path that golden son Logan

First Look: BETTER TOGETHER on ABC

BETTER TOGETHER is the only new comedy that ABC is offering right off the bat this fall (out of three new ones) and on a scale of 1-3, based on what I’ve seen so far, it ranks as not my favorite.  Joanna Garcia is Mia and Jennifer Finnigan is Maddie and they are sisters who share everything.  Maddie is currently dating her long-term boyfriend Ben (Josh Cooke) and they have no plans to marry.  Mia and Casey (Jake Lacy) have
