Quick Take: ONCE UPON A TIME Season 3
I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with ONCE UPON A TIME. The stories have always confounded me, and the introduction of characters who otherwise shouldn’t be involved with each other has always made me crazy (Dr Frankenstein….). This is another show that I had 9 episodes of on my DVR that I just deleted in one fell swoop in May. Ok, so maybe it’s been more of a “hate/love” relationship with the show, because there are more things I don’t like than I do (I do love Emile de Ravin, and Michael Raymond James, so that’s something).
A refresher: At the end of S2, the gang (Snow White, the evil queen, Prince Charming, Captain Hook, and “the savior”) headed towards Neverland, after the missing Henry. Baelfire got shot, and we weren’t sure where he went. Oh and Greg and Tamara were generally awful people who didn’t care about the fate of the little boy they kidnapped. A lot of other things happened, but that’s the most important action to remember. The Season 3 premiere (8/7c) picks up right where we left it. The hunt of Henry picks up with intensity, and by the end of episode 2, I kind of love and hate the irascible Peter Pan, and am once again over the whole Evil Queen of it all. Little mermaids and a bunch of lost boys, plus an epic battle or tw0 – if you like OUAT, you’ll like the premiere. If you don’t, you won’t, and that’s that with that!
