THE BACHELOR is back for Season 17!  This time around, another also-ran from a previous season of THE BACHELORETTE tries for another shot of love.  The new BACHELOR is Sean Lowe, one of Emily Maynard’s discarded loves and this man, for all intents and purposes, is like Greek-god-mixed-with-a-Ken-doll attractive.  He seems genuine and ready for love, as all of the past BACHELORs have, and as with every season, I reluctantly find myself invested in his journey.  And what of his 24 ladies?  I think maybe 1 of them is sane.

But the insanity of the Bachelorettes makes for some good television, as Sean bends the rules left and right in the first episode alone, and seems to make valid decisions based on the competitors’ lunacy as the night goes on!  If this first episode is any indication of what’s to come this cycle, we better get used to some of the most dramatic rose ceremonies, ever!

THE BACHELOR returns tonight at 8/7c on ABC with a 2 hour premiere.
