Larry Harvey – Denis O’Hare
Larry appears to Ben Harmon (Dylan McDermott) early in the season, and with a burned and distorted appearance, Ben is immediately taken aback. It’s not until later that the audience learns exactly how Larry has come to be with no family and with his scars. O’Hare also starred in HBO’s True Blood as the evil Russell Edgington and played Judge Charles Abernathy on The Good Wife.
Larry: I’m trying very hard not to judge you.
Ben: Me? You murdered your entire family!
Larry: Yes, but I was never unfaithful.
Moira O’Hara – Frances Conroy
Moira is an enigmatic ghost of the Harmon household. Played by Conroy, Moira is an older housemaid ready to help the family in any way she can. However, to Ben’s wandering eye, she appears to be the sexy and sultry Moira (played by the red-headed Alexandra Breckenridge). A constant throughout the season, Vivien Harmon (Connie Britton) often confides in the maid and takes her bizarre advice, including eating animal brains.
Moira: I’ll get the shovel. You get the bleach.
Hayden McClaine – Kate Mara
Hayden starts the show in motion when she has an affair with married Ben and forces him to move his family far away for a fresh start. When she turns up on his lawn, pregnant and refusing to go away, Larry hits her with a shovel and buries her out back, but that is not the last of the unstable Hayden. Mara has been featured in other hot TV shows like Nip/Tuck and 24 and is the sister to Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).
Hayden: I am *not* a whore, Ben! I matter! I *MATTER*!
Chad Warwick – Zachary Quinto
Chad and his boyfriend spent some time in the house before their demise before a Halloween party and after they had a huge fight. The infamous rubber suit was brought into the house after the two were working to spice up their relationship and was left there after their murder. But the two don’t stray far from the home and are ready to get it back as soon as possible. Quinto is known for small screen roles in shows like Heroes and also big screen blockbuster flicks like J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek.
Chad: With you, at this point? I’m bulletproof.

Tate was my favorite character.
Larry Harvey (Denis O’Hare) was/is my favorite ghost character from American Horror Story. But I think that all of the other ghost character performances were done really well. It’s really a great TV show! I love American Horror Story!
Moira O’Hara – Frances Conroy. I just love her. Her story was so heartbreaking and it is funny to see that her younger self is such a whore and the older version is so humble and sweet. Well, sort of.
Zachary Quinto who plays Chad Warwick
Without Zach’s Character we wouldn’t have the infamous black rubber suit. That black rubber suit was new to the horror scene and it was amazing!
Larry Harvey – Denis O’Hare was my favorite.

I loved Larry Harvey, what a pest he was to Ben Harmon. His character was annoying but still funny.
I liked Chad.
Denis O’Hare as Larry Harvey was my fave. He is such a phenomenal actor and good in everything he’s in. He used to be one of those character actors I would always recognize, but never know his name. I saw some old episodes of Law & Order w/ him and looked him up and have been following him since. I don’t know if he’s won any awards but he is great. I loved his character in AHS and initially, he was the reason I tuned in.
My favorite character was Constance, played by the very talented Jessica Lange. Like many others, she really blew me away with her acting in American Horror Story. She managed to capture, and convey, so many emotions, so flawlessly throughout the season. I have tried to pick just one scene that I could talk about, but I just can’t do it. She was so consistently good throughout the whole season, never having even one dull moment. She had me laughing with her constant insults, in tears when she tried to save Addie, and even furious with her ploys to steal the Harmon baby. Her performance was so impressive and genuine, it was a real pleasure to watch her act!
