Tonight on The CW, after the 4th season premiere of 90210, Sarah Michelle Gellar returns to TV in RINGER, the show that follows the story of twin sisters Bridget and Siobhan and what happens after the fateful day of their reunion 6 years in the making.

For all intents and purposes, RINGER should be my number 1 show to look forward to.  Buffy is back on TV, y’all, and she’s kicking ass, and playing two roles, and is really, really excited about her new series.  The show features Kris Polaha and Ioan Gruffudd – two of the most attractive men on the planet.  There’s drama, and murder, and suspense, and affairs, and twin confusion, and Richard Alpert’s trademark eyeliner (Nestor Carbonell plays an FBI agent tracking down SMG’s Bridget).  All of that combined should make me love the show.

It doesn’t.  I can’t wrap my head around the writing – seems cliched and stale.  The acting, from Miss Gellar mostly, seems wooden.  I can see why the show didn’t make it to CBS’ schedule, but at the same time, I’m not sure how it will survive on the CW’s either.  If there is 1 thing you should know about RINGER before you tune in, it’s this: maybe you shouldn’t tune in at all.
