My DVR’s Take on Fall TV: Tuesday
It’s a good thing that I have so many holes on the schedule on Tuesday, so I don’t have as much to catch up on after a long night of Quizzo! Even though I have slots to fill, however, I couldn’t bring myself to include ONE TREE HILL on the schedule. Couldn’t do it! What does your Tuesday schedule look like?

I think I need another DVR…
All the cable stuff will get recorded during late night reruns for me. I haven’t looked at the schedules yet, but I doubt there will be a free TiVo at 9 and 10pm most nights.
I usually schedule the DVRs by channel each night in case of those annoying 1 or 2 minute overruns. So Family Room TiVo will get networks A and B and Bedroom TiVo will get networks C and D for a given night. I usually try to schedule the networks that have the stuff I really want to watch for the given night on the Family Room TiVo and put the others in the Bedroom.
If there are more than 4 things on at once, I schedule those on my PCs, which have a total of 4 HD tuner cards between them. But since this is less reliable than the TiVos, I usually only rely on it for the least important things. Usually at the beginning of the season, I just put all of the new network fall and mid-season shows in a text file, and my HTPC will automatically finds and records them–this way I don’t have to worry if I forget to add the show to a TiVo, due to waiting for it to appear in the listings.
I can’t believe this is almost upon us. I think this long weekend I will need to print out the TV grids, map the stations to TiVos for each night and update my HTPC list of shows. Fall is always a bit overwhelming, especially until I have a chance to see the premieres and start cutting shows. You have the benefit of getting to watch some of the screeners over the Summer and start preliminary cuts. 🙂
