Summer TV is about to kick into full gear with some premieres tonight – I suggest the summer premiere of LIE TO ME and GOOD GUYS, but there’s plenty of other stuff on if they don’t float your boat!

The 8:00 Hour –

ABC has a two hour episode of THE BACHELORETTE – 9 guys go to a Barenaked Ladies concert with Ali and appear in their music video.  Two guys get one on ones, and one guy needs to tightrope, while a frontrunner begins to emerge among the guys.  Over on CBS, catch reruns of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and RULES OF ENGAGEMENT.  On HIMYM, the gang tries to quit smoking.  On ROE, Audrey gets mad when Jeff doesn’t believe that she saw the ghost of her dead grandmother.

FOX has the summer premiere of LIE TO ME. Cal suspects that a charming psychology grad student (played awesomely by Jason Dohring) is a murderous psychopath but the young man’s teacher (who has a history with Cal) is protecting him.  Meanwhile, Torres and Loker probe a claim by a teacher (Howard Hessman) that he saw a UFO.  NBC has the two hour season premiere of LAST COMIC STANDING.  The season starts with auditions and a comedy showcase in Los Angeles.  Craig Robinson is the new host, and Andy Kindler, Natasha Leggero, and Greg Giraldo serve as talent scouts and judges.   On The CW, there’s a repeat of ONE TREE HILL – Haley starts to doubt Nathan as the scandal worsens.

The third season premiere of THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER is on ABC Family.  Ben wionders if Adrian is lying about being pregnant.  Meanwhile, Ashley discusses birth control with her doctor and Amy is confused by Ben’s behavior.

The 9:00 Hour –

On ABC, THE BACHELORETTE continues.  Where do they find these crazy people every season?  Is there a crazy person reality show store?  CBS has reruns of TWO AND A HALF MEN and THE BIG BANG THEORY.  On 2.5, Jake writes love songs to get his ex-girlfriend back.  On TBBT, Penny and Leonard fight, leaving Sheldon to act as their mediator.

NBC has hour 2 of LAST COMIC STANDING.  Fox has the timeslot/day premiere of THE GOOD GUYS starring Colin Hanks and Bradley Whitford.  A vandalism case puts Dan and Jack on the trail of thieves who stole vintage cars.  Steve Valentine guest stars as one of the thieves, and Lauren Stamile guests as someone who takes an interest in Jack.  The CW has a rerun of the GOSSIP GIRL that has Vanessa and Blair competing to give the freshman toast, and Dan introducing Olivia to the ‘rents.

The 10:00 Hour –

ABC has an all new episode of TRUE BEAUTY.  Penn and Teller teach the contestants a magic trick but swear them to secrecy on how it’s done.  Will anyone give it up, when questioned by a report?  CBS has a rerun of CSI: MIAMI.  It’s the episode where Lucy Hale played a singer who was burned to death at a surprise concert she threw for fans in Miami.  NBC has the premiere of their latest mystery drama, PERSONS UNKNOWN. The show stars Jason Wiles and Alan Ruck as 2 of 7 strangers that are abducted and taken to a deserted town.  After assessing their situation, the group discover that security cameras are perched throughout the town and an escape won’t come easily.  Meanwhile, one of the group members receives a fortune cookie message encouraging her to kill someone to gain her freedom.

SAVING GRACE is all new on TNT.  As the burden of being the “Angel cop” weighs down on her, Grace scrutinizes the death of a rodeo rider.  Elsewhere, Captain Perry braces for a significant life change and Grace’s brother teaches the art of good communication to Rhetta and Ronnie. REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW JERSEY is all new on Bravo.  Danielle causes more trouble by accusing Jacqueline’s daughter Ashley of threatening to kill her. Dina wants Danielle out of her life, so she schedules a face to face to get it all on the table.  TBS has the premiere of their newest comedy – the animated NEIGHBORS FROM HELL. A family from Hell moves to Texas to pose as a regular family and to try to get their neighbors to stop drilling into their dimension.

Showtime has the second season finales of NURSE JACKIE and THE UNITED STATES OF TARA.  On JACKIE, Jackie’s back at work after the aborted family vacation and her indiscretions put her at odds with everyone.  She also has to deal with the drug dealer that she ripped off, as he comes looking for revenge.  On TARA, Charmaine and Nick get ready to tie the knot.  Tara takes the opportunity to grill her parents and secrets are revealed.  Meanwhile, Marshall and Kate uncover some news that could offer some enlightenment but also send everyone reeling.
