What’s On? Monday, 5/24/10
Sweeps are winding down, folks. After a tear-filled goodbye to our friends on LOST last night, it’s a night of series finales on our TVs tonight – 24 ends its long run, 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU ends its short run, and LAW & ORDER is shipped unceremoniously off into the sunset without a chance at the “longest running television drama” torch that it deserves
ABC has another all new episode of DANCING WITH THE STARS – it’s the first part of the season finale. Over on CBS, catch the season finales of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and RULES OF ENGAGEMENT. On HIMYM, Marshall and Lily vow to try to have a baby if they see Barney’s doppelganger and Robin is offered her dream job. On ROE, Adam and Jennifer plan to marry in secret, but events threaten their hopes. To divert Russell and Timmy, Adam tells them he’s having an intervention for Jeff, who he says has a drinking problem.
FOX has hour 1 of the series finale of 24 (pause for a tear or two to stream down your face). President Taylor focuses on the peace treaty to the exclusion of all else. Jack takes matters into his own hands. Eriq La Salle guests as UN Secretary General. NBC has two all new hours of CHUCK for the season (yep, season, it’s coming back) finale! Shadowy figures from the Ring inch closer to take down Chuck and his team, but not if his father has anything say about it. Elsewhere, Casey undertakes a clandestine mission to protect his daughter from the ring and big news about the Buy More floors Big Mike. Over on The CW, there’s a rerun of GOSSIP GIRL‘s season 3 premiere.
There’s an all new hour of 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU on ABC Family as it says goodbye. Up first, Kat makes plans to study abroad in Nepal. Meanwhile, Bianca laments Joey’s absence while she struggles to come to terms with her dad dating Ms Tharpe. Also, Cameron decides to share his love with Dawn in poem. The second episode has Bianca quitting cheer leading to support a dethroned Chastity. Elsewhere, Kat throws her hat in the ring for class president so that Blank is not left running unopposed.
On ABC, the latest season of THE BACHELORETTE follows last season’s stand out Ali Fedotowsky as she decides to bet on love and not work this time around. I’ve seen the first two hour episode and I mean, seriously, where do they find these crazy people? Some of the men come in with scrapbooks, another guy does a back flip off of the limo, and a third dude shows up on crutches. That’s dedication, folks! CBS has the season finales of TWO AND A HALF MEN and THE BIG BANG THEORY. On 2.5, Charlie loses his license so Jake becomes his driver, while Alan plans to attend Chelsea’s birthday party, against Charlie’s wishes. On TBBT, Howard and Raj play matchmaker for Sheldon by setting up an online dating profile for him. Rumor has it that the woman of Sheldon’s dreams might be played by a certain floppy-hat-wearing flower-child from the mid-90s! Meanwhile, Penny thinks that her relationship with Leonard has affected her ability to date “normal” men.
NBC has hour 2 of CHUCK. Fox has hour 2 of 24. I am absolutely not ready to say good bye to Jack Bauer. Do you think that he’s going to walk off into the sunset, man purse on his back, and finally free of the craziness, or is there no way for him to avoid a ceremonious death at the hand of a former ally? I’m torn between how I want it to go out! The CW has a rerun of the season premiere of ONE TREE HILL.
ABC has hour two of THE BACHELORETTE. CBS has the finale of the moving-to-Sundays CSI: MIAMI. The show focuses on a serial killer who is taunting the CSIs with cryptic clues. LAW AND ORDER ends its historic run on NBC – the series ends with Lupo and Bernard try to locate a blogger who threatened to blow up a school, but the teacher’s union hampers the probe. Meanwhile, Van Buren’s personal issues become a public affair.
SAVING GRACE is back to finish out the series’ run on TNT. A murder spins around a rock band, while Neely becomes Grace’s next door neighbor as Earl tries to help her through a bad withdrawal. Meanwhile, Rhetta works to reconnect with her husband, the no good cheater! REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW JERSEY is all new on Bravo. Theresa delivers her fourth child. Elsewhere, Caroline’s son wants to make his business dreams a reality. Mysteries about a secret safe capture Jacqueline’s attention, and Danielle receives an interesting invitation. Jackie helps a businessman who has a seizure as she’s on the way home, and she finds a bunch of prescription pills in his pockt. On TARA, Max is finally finished the house and he has an open house for potential buyers. Tara and Charmaine confront their mother about Tara’s memories. Lionel takes Marshall cruising for guys. The new man in Kate’s life is concerned about the age difference and Alice pays a visit, bringing with her startling news.
