Before the long awaited 5th season premiere of our favorite Winchester Boys on SUPERNATURAL, The CW rolls out another new series tonight – THE VAMPIRES DIARIES, starring Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev, and Ian Somerhalder.  I thought I’d pass along some pretty pictures to look at this morning in celebration of the beginning of what I think will be a huge hit.

In the interest of full disclosure, I didn’t love the pilot – I thought it was a bit boring and predictable.  BUT BUT BUT!  I love Kevin Williamson, and I love Julie Plec, and if there is any two folks that I think can make this into the DAWSON’S CREEK of the Vampire world, then they are it!  I want to like this show and I am going to give it my all to fall in love like some of our friends have!  Follow the jump for some lovelies (and if you make it to the end, a spoiler I picked up along the way and some promo videos to make you smile)!

There is a big surprise coming for one of the characters maybe pictured, maybe not pictured in the gallery above – beyond what happens in the pilot – and the outcome isn’t as good!  While you’re pondering that crazy notion, here’s some videos to tide you over!
